Department of Histroy
History
GVSM Government Degree College was established in 1978 in Ulavapadu, mandal head-quarter in prakasam Dt. with the munificient donation of Sri Gaddam Seshiah, a well known philantropist. In the begining, the college was run in Govt. Junior College building.
Vision
The History Department aims to make the students aware of the past and its legacies through teaching, research and extension activities in Indian history in the context of world history.
Objectives
History helps pupils to understand the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time.
